MISSION STATEMENT FOR THE BMA

BMA helps members improve their ability to manage business-to-business marketing and communications for greater productivity and profitability by providing unique access to information, ideas, and the experience of peers. We are committed to providing our members with educational and networking opportunities that will help enhance their careers.

HISTORY OF THE CHAPTER

The Boston Chapter was originally identified with the "Association of Industrial Advertisers" called the "AIA". Later it became the "Business/Professional Advertising Association" and is now known as the "Business Marketing Association" or BMA. Essentially, this group focuses on business-to-business challenges with over thirty chapters nationwide.

Created in the mid-50s, the Boston Chapter of the BMA has grown with its members to become one of the chapters with the most attendants at its monthly meetings. In 1986 the Chapter was the host for the 64th Annual Conference, with over four hundred national members in attendance.

Being a non-profit organization, BMA Boston is proud to give back to the community. In 1978, the Chapter set up the John Koch Scholarship Fund at Boston University. This Fund awards scholarships every year to one or more students majoring in Communications at BU.
